It’s not the end of the month yet but today’s stock market action warrants a post update. STI fell by more than 1.7% and REITS by about 5% following Ben’s comments last night. I was fortunate to have sold bulk of my holding yesterday and almost all today.

As of now, I bought back only 1 stock, Cache Logistics as I believe it still have room to grow. Only 50 lots of it at 1.35, not the best price but over 6% yield for me is good enough. I will be keeping bulk cash to see if there are further weakness.

I am using SCB for my trading and it’s quite laggy today. As a safety measure, I would just hold max 2 stocks in future in case I face difficulties to sell when I need to!!!

Here’s my updated portfolio:

REITS have performed strongly this month with dividends and capital growth, resulting in a strong month for me from the previous quarter. Looking at the other REITS performance, i believe there’s more upside for Cache and Suntec. First REIT have went up by a lot so in the short term, it might stay at this level. HPH still sorting out their issues but I am holding on this time round.

Thursday will be the first trading day of May. Sell in May and go away? Maybe it’s a good time to buy some more In the meanwhile, I am not looking to add new positions.

UPDATE (21 May): Bought 12 more lots of Cache Logistics at $1.40, 2 lots of Suntec REIT at $1.885 and 2 lots of First REIT at $1.385

UPDATE (22 May): Bought 2 lots of HPH Trust at $1.03. Sold all Cache at 1.41 and First REIT at 1.4

UPDATE (23 May): Bought 50 lots of Cache at $1.35. Sold Suntec REIT at 1.81 and HPH Trust at $1.025. Preferred to cut loss for Suntec and HPH at this point in time.

If not for dividends, my quarter would have ended in a loss (in contrast to STI gaining 4.6%). So lessons learnt: Switching between quality stocks is not good.  A buy and hold strategy seems to suit me better. Let’s hope for a better quarter!

UPDATE (16 Apr): Sold all my Kep Corp at $11.27. Prices looks very weak even with the upcoming CA. Bought 8 lots of HPH Trust at $1.04. Decided to give it another shot – A small shot

UPDATE (18 Apr): Bought back 8 lots of Suntec REIT at $1.95. I looking for a retail REIT and it’s still under it’s NAV.

UPDATE (13 Mar): Got 2 lots of Kep Corp at $11.64. There is some weakness in the price today due to some news. With the upcoming CA and to diversify my portfolio a little, I made the decision to purchase 2 lots.

UPDATE (18 Mar): Sold Suntec at $1.72 and got 1 more lot of Kep Corp at $11.65.

UPDATE (22 Feb): Sold all HPH Trust at $1.01. Did not like how it is moving so decided to cut loss. This almost wiped out my realized gain for the year but well, at least I feel more at ease

Managed to get 15 lots of Cache at average price of $1.303.

UPDATE (25 Feb): Got 53 more lots of Cache at around $1.305 and 8 lots of First REIT at $1.105.

On a side note, look at CMPacific. It’s 0.945 now. It totally proved me wrong when I suspected I wouldn’t be able to sell 30 lots at one go. I guess we all have to ask why we bought the shares in the first place. No regrets though as it was a profitable trade
